Using Dental Technology to Help Plan Treatment
At Bearbrook Dental Centre, we use technology to help us provide patients with dental care, including digital X-rays and soft tissue dental lasers.
Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
The technology we use at Bearbrook Dental Centre helps to inform treatment planning and makes your dental appointments more efficient. We can display digital scans and X-rays on monitors in our treatment rooms, which means we can show you any issues in your mouth and guide you through your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with dental care, and ensure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this goal.
Digital X-Rays
With digital X-rays, digital sensors replace traditional photographic X-ray film. These X-rays capture highly detailed, computerized images of your teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions. This way, your dentist can examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Your dentist can take a panoramic X-ray to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the sinus and nasal structures. We use these X-rays to plan treatments for extractions, dentures, and more.
Dental Lasers (Soft Tissue)
Dental lasers (focused light beams) can be used in many soft tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to perform dental procedures with fewer medical interventions and less pain. Your dentist can use a laser to reshape gums, lengthen crowns, and complete other procedures.
